250 persons caught for COVID-19 protocol violations in 2nd quarter

Since the first community quarantine, around 250 violators were apprehended for violating public health safety measures in the city, according to a report from Koronadal City Police Station (Koronadal CPS) from the month of April to July 2020.

Most of the violators were caught violating social distancing protocols and non-wearing of face masks, says Public Community Affairs Development (PCAD) Officer P Lt Joenary Castañares of Koronadal CPS.

“Ang mga violators ginadala naton ini sa istasyon, kag ginapatawan naton sang mga naka-align nga ordinances naton.. pag umpisa sang lockdown naton gin-inform gid ang katawhan naton nga mag gamit gid sang face mask kag mag social distancing.”

The said violators were fined the following penalties; stern warning for 1st offense, 500.00 for 2nd offense, 1000.00 for 3rd offense, and possible imprisonment depending on the discretion of the court.

The said fines were based on Ordinance No. 8, s. 2020, declaring the mandatory wearing of face masks and the strict observance of social distancing policy to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the city.
