City-based media unite for Koronadal City Press Corps

In service of prompt and accurate information dissemination, the City Information Office of Koronadal initiated the formation of Koronadal City Press Corps (KCPC) along with the Election of Officers and Oath Taking Ceremony on Friday, June 26 at  Edwin Robert Hall, EMR Convention Center.

KCPC is comprised of select journalists from different media entities based in Koronadal City.

Saturnino “Teng” Garcia, anchorman from Radyo Astig leads the organization as President. The rest of the first set of officers include Ian Lozare (RMN) for Vice President, Debbie Salario (NDBC) as Secretary, Rabbiel Cartagena (Bombo Radyo) as Treasurer, Dante Maquiling (NDBC) for Auditor, and Regiland Yama (Infinite Radio) for Business Manager.

Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena expressed his message of support on this endeavor, emphasizing the role of the media as the voice of the people and as part of the government’s checks and balances against abuse of political power.

This organization is expected to efficiently connect the media and the local government to ensure seamless dissemination of the government’s programs and projects as well as to reach citizen concerns for an open and accessible leadership.
