City market celebrates launching of Balik Sigla Palengke Program

A night of music and enjoyment has once again filled the streets of Zulueta and Alunan as start of a fresh outlook for the city market, September 11.

Vendors generously initiated a ‘midnight sale’ to enliven the activity. Aside from the band, there are various activities like promos, prizes, free haircut, and free food such as turon, smoked fish and a lot more. Councilor Handel Dee Cadellino sponsored free lomi in addition to the feast.

This activity is part of the Balik Sigla Palengke Program, an initiative that aims to entice Koronadalenos to patronize the local market by doing a major overhaul in the market’s spaces, cleanliness, and services.

This is also to thank the vendors for their cooperation in the clearing operations and tolerating the inconvenience for the sake of long-term improvement.

Mayor Ogena in a statement said the market is a priority to enable micro entrepreneurs to keep up with the city’s economic progress despite emerging big commercial establishments such as malls.
