Farmer’s Festival reveals 2020 line-up

The City Agriculture’s Office revealed the full line-up of the Pagdungog Mangunguma Hinugyaw sa Uma dubbed as Farmer’s Festival on January 7, 2020 at Rizal Park.

Also, activities for the 80th Foundation Anniversary and Hinugyaw Festival 2020, have been released with events and activities spread across 8 days from January 3 to 10.

To commemorate the 80 years of triumphs over adversities as it soars into much greater heights towards inclusive growth, the city government spearheaded the conduct of events that will indubitably promote its history, milestones and successes. Guided with the theme, “One People. One Big Dream. One Koronadal”, this year’s celebration hopes to encourage community participation and a sense of belonging while fostering the spirit of unity in spite diversity among Koronadaleños geared towards the attainment of a shared vision.

Meanwhile, each year, the city government of Koronadal hosts festivity dedicated to all productive farmers who are responsible in transforming the city’s modern agricultural landscape.

“We want to give them the recognition they deserve as our unsung heroes who are responsible in propagating food for our people. Further, we are giving them a venue for relaxation where they can also enjoy.”, Mr. Reynaldo H. Legaste, one of the Committee Heads of this year’s Farmer’s Festival said in an interview.

The festival features an array of worthwhile activities to include; viewing of exhibits, food processing demo, cooking contest, Pinaka contest, boodle fight, Livestock Technology Updating/Show, Cultural Show and Harana sa Kubo.  

“Over 2,000 farmer participants coming from the 27 barangays of the city are expected to join us in this event. We invited a keynote speaker in the person of DA 12 Regional Director Milagros C. Casis to inform us on the current trends and situation of the farming industry in the country”, Legaste said.

On the other hand, under Presidential Proclamation, 871, S. 2019, Malacañang officially declared January 10 as special non-working holiday in the City of Koronadal.
