Mayor Ogena supports Tech4ED to lessen technological gap

City Mayor Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena expressed his full support of using information and communications technology (ICT) in the development of urban and rural areas in cooperation with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) project, ‘Technology for Education to gain Employment, train Entrepreneurs towards Economic Development (Tech4ED).’

The Tech4ED is a program that will give better opportunities to the public through improved access to digital education and bridge digital divide towards creating a progressive society.

According to Ogena, ICT can improve the quality of human life used as a comprehensive learning tool for invitation in education, employment, entrepreneurship as well as economic development in the country.

This technological gap cannot surpass my intention and passion for public service. In my desire to be a catalyst of change for the betterment of my people by providing them necessary skills to have a quality life in a fast-paced changing world,” Ogena emphasized.

Furthermore, the City Mayor guarantees his unwavering support to all the programs undertaken by the Local Government Unit of Koronadal and to work for the strengthening of his administration on technological concerns and services.

Ogena also thanked the DICT-Mindanao Cluster 3 for choosing Koronadal City as their venue in gathering that aims to support for an empowered national value, crafting innovations for the welfare and the promotion of one digitized nation.

The Tech4ED Conference was held on August 27 at FB Hotel, City of Koronadal.
