OIC-city health officer appeals cooperation to combat dengue

Officer-in-charge (OIC) City Health Officer Dr. Edito Vego keeps on appealing to the residents of the City of Koronadal for cooperation to combat dengue.  The said appeals follow after cases of dengue continually increasing.

Vego said, as of July 15, 2019, dengue cases rises to 597 from 261 with 128% increased of the same period of year. Vego further mentioned that the said illness become alarming after the lost of three lives specifically a resident of Barangay Zone III, Gen. Paulino Santos and Saravia.

Meanwhile, Action Barangay Kontra Dengue (ABAKD) through barangay health emergency action team was advised to perform house-to-house campaign as part of an information dissemination campaign (IEC).

Vego, on the other hand, emphasizes that cleanliness of entire surroundings of every household is the most effective way to fight against dengue carrier mosquito and to stop the rapid upturn of the said illness. Based on his report, as of July 24, 2019, in the span of 10 days, it mount-up to 732 cases from 597.

Currently, the Province of South Cotabato is under the state of calamity after two municipalities were tremendously affected as the said killer disease becomes epidemic.
