Senior Citizens and PWDs free use of city’s comfort room
All Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens will now enjoy the free use of any toilet, restrooms or comfort rooms operated by the city government of Koronadal. It is by virtue of the city’s Ordinance Number 20, S. of 2019, passed by the Sangguniang Panglungsod on October 15, 2019.
To avail of the said benefit, a senior citizen or PWD shall present an ID issued by the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to the attendant of any public toilet, comfort room or restrooms of the city that requires payment.
The PWD however that needs assistance should inform the attendant for the necessary action and attention.
Further, the toilet, comfort rooms or restrooms under the control of the city government are located at the city public integrated terminal, public market, Rizal park, and night market.
The passage of this ordinance was based on the two Republic Acts such as, RA 9994 also known as the Expanded Citizens Act of 2010 wherein senior citizens are given importance through assistant and care and RA 7277 that ensures the rehabilitation, self-development, and self-reliance of PWDs. Also to make them more contentment to the mind or senses.
