Smart Infocast boosts Koronadal’s info drive

To further boost its communication strategies and disaster preparedness efforts, the City Government of Koronadal through the initiative of the City Mayor’s Office (CMO), officially launched its Infocast Program dubbed as “KoronadalPH” with Smart Communications Incorporated on December 22.

The Smart Infocast, is a web-based communications solution that allows the city to send out news broadcasts, disaster warnings, official announcements or notices, and other critical information especially against COVID-19 menace to over thousands of subscribers daily, particularly in the grassroots.

Fortunately, Smart Communications Inc. is widely open in collaborating with the CMO, mainly when it comes to the local government’s virtual activities. Part of their commitment is to provide a fast and reliable internet connection, free WiFi access at the City Hall Lobby and the entire floors and conference rooms of the City Hall.

The platform is free to register and broadcast for Smart, Sun Cellular and Talk and Text subscribers. They will also provide 300,000 monthly SMS allocations to the system to broadcast, 10,000 sim cards that will be distributed to Koronadaleños, cellphones and other promotional materials.

The City Mayor’s staff will start visiting the city’s 27 barangays starting December 23 to help them register and obtain their QR codes so that they can already receive developmental updates and information via text message.
