SOCOMED Society launches free online consultation
Free consultation through online doctors dubbed as “telemed consultation” officially started on April 24, after it was being launched through the collaborative efforts of South Cotabato Medical (SOCOMED) Society.
The said program is being spearheaded by SOCOMED Pres. Dr. Jose Ferrante Solano in partnership with the City Government of Koronadal which aims to help people with illness in the comfort of their home while preventing overcrowding in hospitals.
During the launch, Dr. Solano explained that their services cater to patients with mild to moderate cases only and not for those with serious conditions. However, if there will be patients who will be required for immediate medical attention, they are advised to inform their Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHEART), City Health Office (CHO) or Korona 911 rescue team especially in the wee hours of the night.
Further, Dr. Allan S. Dideles, representing Internal Medicine (IM) group, made clear that the doctors will only have to stay online during their allotted time because they have also patients that need to attend in the hospitals. He also reminds the patients who need the service of a pediatrician to prepare ahead of the basic patient information such as weight and height before consulting as a requirement. Meanwhile, for women who will be needing the services of an Ob-Gyn but have difficulty getting an appointment, they will be referred to the appropriate doctor for medical attention.

The said services are not only limited to the city of Koronadal residents but also for the entire populace of the province of South Cotabato.
